I was following IBD AID with about 80% adherence. I still keep this diet in mind. I stopped being so compliant because, even though my gut symptoms improved , my fatigue didn’t. And preparing food every day when I’m this tired is tough. So my “cheating” is rice cakes, sometimes wheat, potatoes, chocolate, but I still have steel cut oats with cooked fruit and honey, and other foods with fibre, sweet potatoes and cassava with roasted potatoes, squash soup, aged cheeses, yogurt etc. I guess we all know that our symptoms change and what we can tolerate changes. Sometimes I follow the Pamela popper Phase one list (like I needed to do a few weeks ago while on antibiotics) . I’m sure that sometimes I follow plans that I’ve read about on the Internet just so I don’t have to think! I don’t have the answers but I do believe If we take a moment before we eat to ask her cat if it’s OK it will answer us. Usually I get in trouble and I ignore my instincts.
