Another C Diff infection

I was just diagnosed with my 3rd C Diff infection this year since July. I am still in a UC flare up as well. I was diagnosed with UC in Dec of 2016 and been in and out of remission several times since then plus 3 C Diff infections prior to this year. First two C Diff infections this year i was prescribed Vankomyacin, the third infection I was prescribed Dificid, and now I was just prescribed Dificid plus an infusion of Zinplava/Bezlotoxumab. So frustrated as the C Diff keeps recurring and it imitates my UC symptoms. Has anyone else used Zinplava/Bezlotoxumab and had any luck with it?

Are you a candidate for FMT given that you have had 3 infections in 1 year? Maybe it would eliminate the cdiff more effectively than antibiotics. Also, make sure you are taking a high dose quality probiotic as well to eliminate antibiotic induced c-diff.

I will definitely ask about FMT. Im hoping this infusion will do the trick though.

I was suffering a number of bouts of C-diff in 2017 and although Vanco seemed to help it kept coming back.
I got accepted into a trial of FMT at our Local McMaster teaching hospital here in Canada and with its 90 % cure rate for c_diff I have been clear ever since.

FMT is probably your best bet. You may need to speak to an infectious diseases physician. Repeat C Diff is serious issue requiring focused attention.
