Ambling,
I certainly did not state any of the items listed in your post. I hope that part was not for me.
I enjoy your posts. You can be counted on to present information on subjects presented. I especially like it when you post links to counterbalance points of view.
Free speech is for everyone--even when you or I might not agree with what someone else is saying. We don't get to decide what someone else may believe or say.
And finally, we do not get to decide if someone is willfully, knowingly spreading misinformation unless there is proof indicating they are doing just that. This may be something they believe...or another side that they want to present or perhaps they want to gather information on it or debate it. Signing intent to what the other person is saying frequently causes people to become defensive and may halt discourse that could be beneficial to others. One becomes so focused in defending themselves they lose sight of gathering information. If discourse is free flowing and has a positive note people may then research others opinions. Intent is such a slippery slope. Maybe we should ask people before we assign intent? Lol...
My hope is that Einstein was advocating for the exchange of ideas and thoughts-for
open discourse even when people do not agree with what someone else says or believes. We do not live in an autocratic society where we get to limit what someone says, thinks or believes. My father was an immigrant and the freedoms granted in the US are very near and dear to my heart. Freedom of speech is at the top of my list and I will defend it every time. Intent is up there too-especially when you have governments or others assigning intent for your peaceful words or actions that they might not endorse and the next thing you know family members are in prison. So for me it is very important to never take those things for granted.
I would not want to be a domineering person that stops anyone's freedom of expression-nor would I want someone to be that way towards me. (And please note--that is not what I am saying you are doing either...) I am trying to show how discourse can be impacted.
Back on task....
My friend that had the headache after the vaccine...she said it has gotten just a little better but has not gone away. It's still pretty bad. She is going in to see the doctor in the morning. She has developed vertigo...
I still believe in the shot and will get it at the first opportunity.
