Hey has anyone here been on Entyvio and gotten cancer? I see it is side effect of other biologics
and I was just wondering if it is for all of them. Its pretty scary, I know. Thank you.

I am also considering Entyvio right now and GI ordered it. I wish I could be on mesalamine because it's definitely the safest drug for UC, but unfortunately developed hypersensitivity to it. In terms of biologics, my understanding is that Entyvio is gut specific so it doesn't suppress the entire immune system like other biologics. Theoretically it would have a better safety profile. Risk of cancer that I saw was 0.4 compared to 0.3 placebo. Risk of infections is higher though with biologics overall.

Thank you for answering. I guess theres a risk with all medicines, unfortunately.
What kind of diet were you on ? I didn't understand what it was.

I benefitted from SCD diet for many years. I also think the AID-IBD diet is well researched.

Been in remission with entyvio for almost 4 years now. There’s a chance of cancer with almost any drug really and who knows what else — the air we breathe or the food we eat. That’s the way I look at it anyway.

But the statistics say the chance of cancer is only slightly higher than the general public.

DD is taking Entyvio for 8months.
Too early to say but so far no side effects other than some sinus headaches here and there.
She did have a similar to gout kind of attack which we thought could be Entyvio's side effect but seems like it was the bunion inflammation that caused it.
