Hello everyone! I am a 25 year old female and have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis for 8 years now. I struggle with pain almost everyday and I honestly get so stressed and so much anxiety because I don’t want to rely on pain medicine but it helps me get through my day. I also get anxious when I ask for pain medicine at the hospital or my general practitioners office and they give me weird looks. They make me feel like I’m a drug addict when I’m not. It’s just very depressing when you feel like no one understands you or how extreme your pain is. So I was wondering what others do to help with the pain if you don’t rely on pain medicine. My pain usually feels like a stabbing pain. The only way to get through it is to sleep all day which makes me even more sad because I feel like my day is wasted. And it’s sucks when you have both pain and you’re flaring! Please help. Any advice is welcome.
