Very curious about
some of these responses, thank you!
Can you clue me in on the communities of GI doctors that don't believe UC to be autoimmune? I would love to explore that route.
Curious how you got your fecal transplant since it's only approved for C Diff and not for Ulcerative Colitis?
Also curious how you got your hands on Low Dose Naltrexone? Did your GI prescribe it?
Thryve looks really awesome, have you tried it? Was their formulation really personalized enough to help you?
Thanks again!

Have you considered options outside of modern medicine? There are so many alternative approaches available to treating UC now. Nothing is surefire but a lot of people really find relief and even remission by exploring those different avenues. Biologics don't have a great track record statistically speaking. Their failure rate after 5 years is higher than 60%. Once you've failed one biologic, statistically your chances are higher of failing the next one. So if you don't start considering alternative approaches, modern medicine will corral you into getting surgery, which nobody really wants.
If you're wary of alternative approaches, then you could at least consider the alternative modern medical approaches being researched. There are entire communities of GI doctors around the world who don't think UC is auto-immune, but is caused by other factors like dysbiosis, infection, SIBO, gut nervous system damage, etc. I enjoyed 2 years of medication free remission after getting a fecal transplant. I enjoyed another 18 months of remission from just doing low dose naltrexone therapy. These may or may not work for you, I'm just saying... there are other things out there.
If you only rely on modern medicine yet it's not working for you, you're going to lose your bowel. You should be at least supplementing with alternatives. Things like curcumin and boswellia come to mind. Have you had any gut microbiome mapping done? Thyrve and CosmosID do really good ones. You can find out which bacteria are overgrown and modify your lifestyle to starve them. Modern medicine doesn't do those investigations, they just do basic stool tests to look for parasites and obvious pathogens. They are way behind on the importance of gut mapping techniques.
Pursue your biologics schedule but I would seriously look into other alternatives if you want to avoid surgery.
