Pred is bad for the gums & ligaments that hold teeth in place below the gumline. Heard that from an excellent general dentist, husband of a colleague, who helped me recover from steroid damage in mid-1990s. Beware of commercial pastes & mouthwashes, though, that claim to relieve sensitivity. Recently I got a Sensodyne (enamel repair-type) sample from hygienist post-cleaning & tried it later at home. It burned my tongue & numbed my taste buds for a while after one brushing: phooey on false remedies! My GI system dislikes very hot or icy cold drinks or foods so I adjust my intakes accordingly, which helps teeth & gums on the route down, too. Best wishes for your condition to improve soon & do try to get off steroids permanently. / Old Hat (40 yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)
