Antibody test after Covid vaccine

After talking to my PCP about whether the Pfizer would work for me since there is concern that being on Remicade might prevent me from developing the antibodies, he sent me for an antibody test. I got the results and I thought it was negative for antibodies, but he said is is showing positive for antibodies but he didn't sound very definitive about that. Anyone ever had this test and can interpret? I had my 2nd dose of Pfizer on 3/7

This test is intended to help identify individuals
with antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). The results
of this semi-quantitative test should not be
interpreted as an indication or degree of immunity or
protection from reinfection.

A test result that is 1.00 or more (Positive) means an
immune response to a COVID-19 spike vaccine or recent
or prior infection with SARS-CoV-2. False positive
results for the test may occur due to cross-reactivity
from pre-existing antibodies or other possible causes.

A test result that is less than 1.00 (Negative) means
that antibodies were not detected in the blood sample.
This could mean that the patient has not been
previously infected with SARS-CoV-2. False negative
results for the test may occur if the
patient's
antibodies have not reached a sufficient level for the
test to be able to detect them. Antibodies can take up
to two to three weeks (sometimes longer) to develop
after someone is infected or final vaccine dose is
administered. How long antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 last
after infection is not known.

It says COVID IgG greater than 20. Greater than 1 is positive, so you have lots of antibodies 👍

Yes it is confusing! It actually doesn't make sense.
It's not clear what your result actually was.

Those numbers are really the range that is used, where 1-20 is not conclusive.

Ugghh... sorry. Hopefully there are some more numbers somewhere?

Flowers -- how did you join that study? Would it be too late for me to join? Do you have a link?

Ambling -- there were no other numbers on the results -- I copied everything except disclaimer stiff at the bottom that didn't have any results or info

You have to be less than 90 days from your 1st shot to be in the study. I will see if I can find the link. I think someone on here shared it before.

I don’t know what I am doing wrong but I cannot find the preliminary results. Do you have to be a member? I am in the study but I don’t get my blood test until Saturday,

They called back and said that I will be able to get the test and to watch my email over the next couple days. She said they have some leeway on that 90 day limit so I should be fine.

Flowers -- how long ago did you have the test?

Something is definitely going on with that. It only works for me when I click on the link from the email they sent me, not from the URL I copied and pasted (even though it's the same address).

Ha! I just used that same word "relieved" in my other post to you. I hope I can breathe that same sigh of relief. I am going today for the blood test.

I had problems with that secure email they sent with the lab order in it. It wouldn't open for me. I had to keep emailing them until they sent an unencrypted attachment. One of the people running the study said they have over 3000 people in the study. We should have some good answers about the vaccine with IBD by the end of the study.

The Prevent COVID study results and the lab requisition come through as a weird MS word protected document. I get in by signing in with my Windows ID and password. Requesting the one time code has never worked for me.

Anywho... had my test 5/3 and got results on 5/13. I scored a 75, so plenty of antibodies. So relieved!

Great news! I had my test about 10 days ago and have heard nothing. I am very nervous. I looked at the results for all so far and it looks like 7% are not responding with 200 tested so far but they don’t say if they received a specific medication or vaccine. I think that info would be very helpful.

"Index Value" refers to the reference range/cut-off, not your result. Your result is the one under "Your Value". You'll see references to a positive test as "abnormal" or "flagged" because this test was designed to determine previous infection and no previous infection (no antibodies) is the "normal" value.

First time being abnormal would be a good thing! This is the most confusing test result I have ever seen.

Hah! Right! My results was flagged as “high”. A good thing, for a change!

I read more about this test and it tells how much of an immune response you have. Since my number is so low it doesn't sound like I have had much of a response. I am going to still continue to double mask and keep my distance from people. I was lax the other day when I was in a car with someone who has been vaccinated. But I doubt I will do that again without a mask until numbers of new cases drop more in this area.
