Does anyone have the latest info on:

1- latest success rates for FMT with Dr. Borody in Australia
2 - what the latest protocol is for FMT with Dr. Borody (does he use a colonoscope? are antibiotics used for prep? how many times is the FMT administered and over what time period?)
3 - what the costs for the procedure are and how folks outside of Australia can get a phone consult?

I had it done in 2011 or 2012. Guessing his protocol may be diff now. I was in remission when I did it but I had no long term success. It was via enema for 10 days in a row. It affected my hormones a bit in a good way but nothing four my UC.

Yes antibiotics are used. Vancomycin for two weeks. First one administered via colonoscopy then enemas for 10 days. They’re only doing phone consults atm even before Sydney went into lockdown. Cost was around 7-10k when I looked into it.

It looks like they require your doc to provide a referral in order to get accepted for a phone consult.

That's great to hear that vanco is the only one required - I was worried about them using too many.

So 10 is the magic number of FMT's for them? I really wonder what the statistics for that look like for UC...

I’ll be looking into it again today. Trying to avoid immunosuppressants. I was in hospital recently and heard of a man who was very sick with UC. They done the FT here in Wagga and he done a complete turnaround.

I was on FMT at our Macmaster teaching hospital back in 2016 and for me it did nothing for UC however at that time I had 4 bouts of C -Diff and FMT is fantastic for that. Not a trace of it since.
