Expired canassa suppositories

I am in a flare and hoped it would settle down but it's not. I have a bunch of canassa suppositories my GI gave me but they are expired. Are they still safe to use?

How long expired?

I suggest the retention enemas over the supps. But use them as an adjunct during the day and enemas at night.

I’ve been using expired suppositories occasionally. They still seem to help. But I’m not flaring.

They expired late 2019.

I've used expired ones before. They tend to be a bit more brittle and flakey but seemed to work fine.

Yes I should mention that the tips on mine were cracked and broken (just the waxy coating I believe). So I inserted them inside down to avoid scratches.
