Covid on Inflectra

Well I am back from vacation and brought covid back with me. Ugh. I got the Pfizer vaccines in September but still managed to catch covid. I am on Inflectra and am stressed about having covid on a biologic. Anyone else catch covid on a biologic? Should I be concerned? Right now I feel like I have a really bad cold.

I had a breakthrough case in August while on Remicade. My symptoms were different and I had more flu like as in fever, body aches and very mild congestion . It sounds like you have the new strain which is milder. I got through it fine although still don’t have my taste back fully. The inflectra should prevent any cytokine storm which is good. You will be fine! Just take care of yourself.

Oh btw you could get monoclonal antibody infusion but I read that it may not work against omicron:

I wouldn't worry too much - people on Remicade have done pretty well. They are using certain immunosuppressant biologicals for treatments Covid.

These stats were shared this morning from the CDC. You will fit into one of the better categories.

Latest CDC data by vaccine status:

Unvaccinated: 451 cases per 100k
Vaccinated: 134 cases per 100k
Boosted: 48 cases per 100k

Unvaccinated: 6.1 deaths per 100k
Vaccinated: 0.5 deaths per 100k
Boosted: 0.1 deaths per 100k

The numbers above show how important it is to be vaccinated if you want to avoid catching it or worse.
