FDA Clears Covid Treatment for the Immunocompromised

I contacted my infectious disease doctor again. No Evusheld for me until after everyone else has theirs--because I am retired. I will go before the "healthier" immune compromised though.

Their said to expect at least a 6 month wait, and that's if they start to get this in. They still haven't gotten their hands on any. Nada, zip, zero, zilch.

I hope someone on here gets this. They'll be able to share how to get it and their reactions (if any).

I live in an agricultural county and 534 people tested positive yesterday. My friend in the hospital--she is starting to struggle. They told her when she first went in that with Omicron there is a lower chance of death--but they are still seeing many go onto ventilators and some die.

So sorry your friend is struggling. I don’t know her story but I think you said she was just immunocompromised like all of us.

Thanks for the reminder. I have appointments to talk to my GI, CRS and ID docs in a couple of weeks.

I read that too and was disappointed that there are options like that going to waste. My PCP said he had already given his allotment out so is waiting for another round. (Whatever that means) He is supposed to let me know when my turn comes up. It makes me wonder if I should call other doctors that I don't know for an appointment.

It's still too early for my 4th vaccine. Yes...We are still trying them and hoping that maybe this one will work. LOL.. my ID is so optimistic.

Have you heard of anyone getting this? I keep wondering if I have missed some opportunity.
