Experiences switching from Budesonide 9mg er, to 3mg ec??

I've been tapering down slowly from 9mg tabs,after taking them for almost three years, to 3mg ec caps, with the hope of being off it completely soon.

In the last week I've had urgent diarrhea almost constantly. a first in over 20 years. The list of other drugs I'm on is quite extensive. Prostate cancer and dedifferentiated Sarcoma, for starters.

Nurses don't know, but do a superficial Google search, and super specialist doctors eyes glaze over.

Just hoping someone here might have some insights.

No other UC meds, don't know what "ec" stands for. I've assumed some kind of extended release.

I may just have to return to 9mg Budesonide (Uceris)

I think it stands for "enteric coated" meaning it has a special coating to delay the release. Sorry I don't have any advice otherwise...
