. If you have to take oral iron only take it as a standalone where it does not include any other vitamin or mineral to it. Even if it says 100% RDA the absorption will be way too low for someone with anemia and your iron absorption most likely will get impaired by the other things included.
Infusions are the best to bring it up quickly if your Hgb is very low. I find oral iron very tough on the gut too and avoid it altogether.
Regarding fillers in supplements this is a very good question. I would like to know too. I know anything with Titanium Dioxide should be avoided altogether but mostly all supplements will have some filler or the other. I have a grape seed extract supplement with only magnesium Stearate to it but found it quite rough on the gut for me and stopped even though it is a low dose of 100gm . Perhaps grape seed extract is not for everyone.
