Anyone have any recommendations which is safe to use with proctitis to soften stools.
My main issue at the moment is that I am so constipated, the constipation is aggravating the fissure that had been healing and Just generally making me uncomfortable.
I was going to try lactulose but says on the label that people with ibd shouldn’t use it so I am quite reluctant until I get a proper diagnosis.
I am in uk and any Recommendation would be appreciated. Whether it’s a certain food or medicine etc.
I have been staying away from fibre as I felt it made my symptoms worse but thinking about
reintroducing slowly

Hi...you're in the process of your flare healing 👍🏻. I used to use Docusate sodium and it worked well, but now just daily increase vitamin C, salads, fruits, raw carrots...etc.
You could try mirilax?

I use Dulcolax for sensitive stomach. Works very well.

I use stool softeners (generic) and/or miralax. Even my GI recommends miralax
