Hi, how long can I stay on 25mg pred before I have to taper

Until your symptoms improve...are you still on Entyvio as well?

25mg is not a mega high dosage so likely you can stay on it for a good bit to get symptoms under control....i seem to rem asking iPoop something similar and he said he was on 20mg possibly for 6 months....maybe he will chime in

Yes still on entyvio. My Gastroenterologist messed up my dosage so I started to slip back into a flare. Instead of having two weekly injections after loading doses I had two injections at eight week intervals. I was slowly improving. No pain, no blood. Back to pain when I go to toilet and blood.

Budenoside is safer for long term use so that might be a better option.

Since your dosage got messed up, it might be a good idea to have a test to make sure you didn't develop antibodies. If you did, Entyvio might never work for you. That was a really bad mistake the doctor made.

As long as you can tolerate the side effects...ha. On a more serious note, make sure you're getting enough calcium and vitamin D. Sorry your doctor messed up your entyvio...that's got to be extremely frustrating.

Thanks. Yes I take high dose Vit D. Salica and do weight training as well. I feel the budesenide is bringing things under control today. Less blood and sharts hopefully more improvement tomorrow that will keep me off pred
