Controversial Posts

I am not being mean or trying to get in trouble.... Or cause anyone else to get in trouble.

Does it seem like when there are controversial posts the site has more activity?. Like people are popping in to see the cat fight but then staying around to read and respond to other posts? Name calling, threats and bullying are not ok... But when a posts lights up it just seems like there's more activity.

And... Do other members here get to know if someone was banned? Or do we just assume that they are cause they are no longer posting? And if they are banned, and their email is available will it still be shown? Sometimes people have poked the sleeping lion and been given a time out.... But maybe I wanted to get in touch with them.... How do you do that?. I am not saying that's the case now--I'm Just thinking down the road... Cause sometimes people will act up once in a blue moon. And when you do act up... Do the mods give you a warning email or does it just suddenly happen?

I know. I'm not saying the insults are good. The actual debate about it was good. You get a better understanding of things then.

There have been many times when the debate has saved me from making a huge mistake. Thank goodness for those debates.

I too try to stay out of the line of fire if possible.... 😁... Even when I am 🤬

clo, there was already an email like urs a few days ago calling for such posts to stop and for people to calm down....as you might have guessed this was not adhered to...but thank you for trying again

The result of all this too and fro comments is the hate fueled disgusting comment from Mark posted yesterday. Thankfully the mods have removed that comment now. I hope this is reported to HW Admin and Mark is banned from the site. I see his "friends" on the argument side have gone very quiet today on the matter.

If a member has their email listed in their profile it will always show up.

Members are given warnings either by a mod/mods or the admin, the admin does read in these forums which shows up in the offending post.

If someone gets banned it serves no purpose to post it in a forum.

The alert icon in the drop down box goes directly to the admin.

Well... I try to stay out of the weeds... But sometimes my brain shuts off and I've already hit the send button. I need to find a button that puts it on the back burner and then waits a day to make me think things thru. I guess we could just go back in and delete our post but gosh... The damage is done by then.

I just wasn't sure on this stuff and haven't asked the questions. I wanted to make sure I got a slap on the wrist before I got in trouble.

If any of you see me doing that please let me know. I don't wanna be rude, obnoxious or in time out or banned.

I appreciate all of you. You all help me so much!

I do not read threads with titles that I am not interested in like the antioxidant methods -- it's just not my thing; I'm not interested in it and I can't add any value to it.

If you click on the person's name then you can see the last time they were logged in. Van Jones hasn't been around since he started attacking the mods and breaking the rules. Maybe they finally nuked his account.

When I have the time then I am quick to jump into a surgery thread because I can speak from that experience where most on this site cannot.

I remember one of your posts from long ago speaking about Prednisone. I was tossing the devil tic tocs down like candy and trusting the doctors to tell me is they were bad for you. Suddenly my knees were a mess... I remembered your post, went to a rheumatologist and she confirmed.

Most of the posters matter of fact stance on surgery helped me not be afraid of surgery or the need for a colostomy.

So many people here have helped me.

Thanks for posting. You all helped me even when it wasn't a direct question.

Ok I don't want this to be a controversial post... But I think I have something wrong. Maybe it's the first NORCO I took. It's making me see things or dream things. Was there a post by someone claiming to be a physician that used the Pravda method or something?

I could have sworn I responded but its gone. It disappeared.... Or I just imagined it and these Norco's are gonna be a no no for me. I can't take meds that make me imagine things even if they do seem to be helping with the pain.

Is it the meds?

This is why I don't like trying new pain meds. Tramadol makes me have these "awake" nightmares where everything is messed up... And I don't think they even help with the pain. The Norco seem to be helping but I must be higher than a kite.... I think I'm seeing things. Lol...

Oh thank goodness. Thanks for responding. I thought I was going crazy.

I was getting ready to put the Norco away to be used as a last resort. Which would have been a shame cause it seems like it is working. Lol....

Thank you for the kind words. I feel almost an obligation to post my story because I am happy with my outcome but not happy with the course that it took. I was so scared to get surgery and then have chronic pouchitis and that was mainly from things that I read from other members, and they were all from people who had never had surgery or pouchitis. I was 25 when I first got sick and didn't know any better. I tried my hardest to not have surgery and then I suffered so much that I was begging for surgery at the end. I ended up with chronic pouchitis but it's not something is even an issue for me, it is easily treated and I live a normal life now. I wish that I didn't put surgery off for so long, the meds that I took were so harsh and damaging to my body. Living with a temporary ostomy wasn't much of an issue either - I was recovering from surgeries the entire time I had an ostomy.
