Are the bottles accordian style or smooth?
I do suggest you get the 4g if available...contact your pharmacy to see if they're available, and discuss a change in dosage with your GI.
Accordian style. I will ask about
4g enemas next time I speak to a doctor, just in case. I believe I asked once before and they didn't really do anything with it but I'll ask again. I do wonder if it could be just a difference in how they happen to do things in the UK but I'll ask.
Since switching from sulfasalazine 4g/day to Pentasa granules 4g/day, my symptoms are quite a lot worse
I switched like 11 days ago. But I don't know if they would have become worse anyway. Even though I've switched from a drug that kinda contains mesalazine to another fully mesalazine drug, do you think I still need to wait like at least 2-4 weeks to see if the Pentasa's working? My symptoms are bad, I'm going many times a day with extremely high urgency. It's definitely worsened since the switch. But I switched due to factors beyond my control, there was a sulfasalazine shortage that I just couldn't get around and I tried. Nonetheless Pentasa should be good right? I used it when I was first diagnosed with UC and it worked well for me at the time. Surely the enemas should help too. I think my main question now is this one I posed:

EDIT: And just to be clear, I was flaring before the switch too, it's not like I've suddenly started flaring. But the symptoms are just worse that's all.
