Excited to see Merck buying Prometheus (for $10.8 billion).
Another big pharma company getting into the game/stepping up their game.
(full disclosure: I'm a Merck employee, but thoughts shared here are my own and not supported or endorsed by Merck etc. etc) :P

I saw that the other day. It looks like they have two drugs that are close to market for UC and more effective than anything currently on the market.
It's a different Prometheus than the Prometheus Labs that perform blood tests to measure our biological serum levels.

Edit: I was wrong. You were right. They are different companies. Prometheus Labs and Prometheus Bioscience.

I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to sort this out - and with little success.
Prometheus Labs and Prometheus Biosciences are two different companies, but they are *closely* related. I can't find anything that clearly explains their history or how they are related. But they were located right next to each other (until last year when Prom Bio moved a few miles away). And they were started by some of the same people.
It looks like those people first started Prometheus Labs, ran it for a few years, then sold it to Nestle Health in 2011. A few years later, they then started another Prometheus company, this one Prometheus Biosciences, practically next door to Prom Labs and with some of the same people behind it.

Did they take all the data with them from the blood tests when they started the new company? I thought that I remembered something about
that.

Prometheus Labs has all the blood test data, from what I can tell.
Prometheus Biosciences has a "bio-bank" of tissue samples from probably thousands of IBD patients, much (or all?) of it taken from Cedars-Sinai's IBD center in Los Angeles.
