Yes I was on Imuran for over 20 yrs and had to take prednisone a lot during that time. The longest time I was on Perdisone was about 2 years, I did not get moon face but had lots of issues with hunger and over eating like you. I also had problems with mood swings. Prednisone is brutal!

Moon face must be something specific to individuals, IMO. I never got it and I was on a course of ores on and off for over a year.

There should be a feature that hides our posts to certain users who stalk our posts and put up negative replies. These people are trolls and stalkers and should have been banned long ago.

Another putdown. Q is a troll. Admin certainly you can see the problem, why are personal attacks allowed here?

Replying to posts is one thing, stalking and trolling certain people here is another matter. It's very obvious, completely unnecessary and damaging to this forum and the people who come here in pain from this disease seeking help. Cmon now, it's very plain to see. This forum can be just like freshman year in high school, immature, mean spirited and soul crushing. The bullies rule this forum.

I feel this rule could be better observed in some of the posts on this thread.

Re... The appetite issues..... The last time I took steroids I did use smoothies with chia seeds or flaxseeds to help me feel fuller. I made them with fruit and veges.... They were easy to digest. I don't know that they made me feel any less hungry. I started drinking water because you have got to increase your fluid intake when you take chia or flax seeds. (They can cause obstructions) I started with 2 tablespoons of ground seeds a day....but others start with less.
I also tried the everytime I really wanted a snack and knew I shouldn't eat drink water.

I just sloshed around while walking to the fridge for what I really wanted ..

Quincy, I have a suggestion -why don't you put me on ignore, then you won't feel the intense urge you seem to have to leave snarky or demeaning replies to my posts. Problem solved!

Everyone is different. You might be one of the lucky people that don't do that.

My older sister had to take steroids for about 6 months. Nothing. She didn't get a moon face. She didn't gain weight....

But gosh her house was so organized it was almost uncomfortable... And moody. Yikes.

That's a pretty fast taper.... But that's the way we do it until I hit 20... Then we slow down. During the last 10 to 20 mg it's really challenging for me. We have to go back up and then taper alittle slower... Hopefully you won't have to do that.

my next infusion (Renflexis) is tomorrow......it will be my third........still needing to go to the toilet 7-8x every 24 hours........no normal stools as yet......either mushy or smaller pellets.......urges have slowed enough to make the toilet in time so that's encouraging. Currently at 10 mg. pred. with final dose on July 6. Hoping this infusion is a turning point for me.

I don't know why. She refused to share. It's the one time we got into a big ol sister cat fight.

I can only go on what I observed and what she did share.

Her empty bottles were in the guest bedroom bathroom closet. I went in the closet for bath towels. They were all lined up in a row starting over 6 months before at 50mg and then tapering down.

I asked, she accused me of snooping --.I wasn't. I needed a towel to take a shower. When I saw them.. yes I looked.... But I didn't dig for them..... They were in a darn row right in front of my face.

Worse fight ever... But she was still in her favorite riding pants...no moon face or weight gain. No fat deposits around her neck or back. She's always on the go and super clean and organized... But I thought she might be a little more organized than before and wondered but she denied...

But she was moody .. we never argue or fight... But I've never asked her such personal questions. She was waaaay offended. It might be a generational thing though... She's much much older than I am...

When I brought up my weight gain because of Prednisone she said it was not the Prednisone..it was because I didn't have any willpower.... yikes!!
I'm still not talking to her.
