I can understand banning a member from HW if he is supposedly being obnoxious and nasty. But why are we censoring research by Dr. Pravda?

I think you need to read the statement again. It would be hard to ban somebody who has never had an account here.

If you want to know why, do a search and read all the threads. But even then it may not be 100% clear, as the most vitriolic posts were removed by the mods.

You can still discuss the topic on reddit and Facebook as far as I'm aware.

Please don't change the subject. Those who supposedly made those “most vitriolic posts” are banned but that doesn't explain why the newest thread discussing Dr. Pravda / R-DHLA is locked.

It’s all a game for IAC. The same schtick all the time and how this site is so unfair, censors, and bans. Meanwhile, it’s a medical discussion site and certain things are inappropriate.

Just curious on your thoughts....

Do you think that those things would help people that already have an ostomy? Or does the constant movement of the bowels help reduce those things and make it irrelevant for them?

It's interesting to read what they are saying while keeping in mind that everyone is different and not everything works for everyone.

I wonder how the people that were going to try those things are doing...if they are in remission or faring better...

In the most neutral terms possible, the subject was banned because literally every thread involving it devolved into flame wars, with users violating Forum Rules 2, 3, 8, and arguably Rule 6 (no proselytising) given the religious zealotry with which some members are desperate to promote one particular doctor/method.

Banning users has limited effect when they can just make a new account or even multiple accounts, which is what we saw happening on these threads.

I am also with Keith that it is not ok for a healthcare forum to allow users with no medical training to bash science, scientists, doctors and conventional medicine by posting nonsense information and fake statistics, which we also saw happening in those threads. It is dangerous for patients and it is dangerous for scientists. Not saying doctors and medicines are without valid criticism, but please base it on facts not fantasy.

Moreover, the forum has been a lot more peaceful and friendly since the subjects were banned.

As far as I understand, it has been difficult to implement the methods as one particular ingredient was not available, so probably noone had success with it. Now that ingredient is available the cult members have to come here and preach it to us so that we can all be saved from our western medicines 💊 🙄

CLO: Not sure what your asking. If you talking about diversion colitis in the rectum, I fixed mine with BHB supplement. BHB=beta hydroxy butyrate.

An entire subject gets banned because some people don't know how to have a respectful discussion.

I do not think the subject matter was the problem here and to be fair to the moderators this was not the point they were making last year when threads were locked etc. The issue was that the subject had caused people to be very disrespectful and quite rude to one another post after post. Now in that regard save us from the usual american bs about free speech and all that rubbish "ye guys" spew. I think if people genuinely come on here to argue their point in a respectful way no decent subject will be banned.

The same thing happened 2 years ago when we had to put up with keith and crew continually posting info about pro-vaccine. And again the anti vaccine crew were equally to blame in rising the temperature. On that topic keith and others were banned for a few months so fair dues to the moderators in treating the conduct of people and not taking sides.

I was one of the people who disagreed with VJ crew and the way that they were presenting their point. But at the same time you can understand their frustration in part when people cling to the age old "if it did not work for me then it should not work for you". There are many solutions to IBD apart from rectal meds!
