Nausea meds that don't cause constipation?

Are there any nausea meds other than Zofran that don't cause constipation? Zofran makes me severely constipated for days if I don't immediately start drinking Miralax twice a day. And this happens from a single Zofran.

I have a bottle of promethazine a doctor gave me a couple years ago that I've been too scared to try because it seemed to have some scary potential side effects. Anyone ever take this?

Ok, thanks. That's ok. It isn't too bad right now, just annoying once in a while. I have all this Zofran at home, but don't even take it now because the constipation is that bad when I do, that I'd rather feel nauseous!

I'm still in remission so I'm not sure exactly what is going on. Some of it is probably lifestyle stuff that I'm working on changing.

Interesting...you know, when I've gotten Zofran at the hospital, I never noticed constipation either!

Sara do you take Xanax? Sometimes that helps my nausea. Not always but sometimes. Also bentyl/dicyclomine seems to sometimes work with nausea too.

Is this recent? I’ve been nauseous a lot lately and was wondering if it was a weird stomach bug. Or my gut not processing right. Had the nausea for 2 straight days last week and intermittent since then.

Marinol and ginger pills work awesome for me. I use 5 mg Marinol (2x daily) and then 3 ginger pills a day when nausea is bad. My prednisone nausea was horrible and I could barely eat so the ginger pills were a must after each meal. Marinol does make me a little high but in a good way. Not covered by my insurance but my last script was $125 month using goodrx. Without the coupon its like $750. Definitely expensive but worth it.

Can you get medical marijuana in your state? I know cancer patients use it for nausea. In Pennsylvania IBD is one of the diseases that is an approved condition to get it. I haven't used MM, but thought I would throw it out there.

Have you tried the pills/chewable tabs? They do not taste good at all because they are so spicy but they work 1000x better than tea or ginger chews/suckable candy. They can burn quite a bit at first but then they end up helping. You will need to rinse your mouth out. My study doctor at the hospital said some of the patients use them in conjuction with their nausea meds so they dont need to rely on them as much. But if you have tried them then it sucks they didn’t help. Nausea is so debilitating to live with. I have tried everything for it. DGL might be another one to try since that is good for the stomach lining. They make chewable tabs as well (tasty but not as effective as the high content gingerols) but it is a supplement. No constipation with it so branching out to supplements may be worth it for you.

Thanks, clo. Yeah, I don't know if it has something to do with my UC recently or not. Woke up today with it but it's not severe at all. It's very mild right now, but it is still not a pleasant feeling, you know? Sorry you deal with way worse from the sounds of it.

I will see if quitting smoking helps all this because it is bad for my gut personally, and my sleep, and my anxiety...and everything else of course.

Omg please get help you insane woman!!! You sound completely unstable and should seek better therapy for whatever the heck is wrong with you because whatever you are doing is not working. I was just giving advice since you posted a question and I have had nausea for 17 years. I do not do any illegal drugs whatsoever and my Gi doctor prescribes marinol for his severely ill and underweight patients. No need to attack me for taking time to help you and give options. I actually pity you and sincerely hope someone provides something meaningful for you because you have lost your mind and have no respect for humans. Get a life.
