Remicade and methotrexate have given me the best quality of life thus far. I frequently add in things I tried before to see if they will help.sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.
And below...when I say they helped it's just that. They helped. They did not stop my symptoms completely.
FT....didnt try that. RVF made it impossible.
LDN did not help.
Antibiotics did help but I developed allergic reactions to them. I was almost in remission.
Liquid diet helped some...still use it occasionally.
SCD diet helped. I still use it when I am feeling poorly. I use the bone broth and yogurt frequently. They help pull me out of my flares.
Atkins diet helped alittle...but SCD helped more.
High dose vitamin supplements....not all helped and they started making me nauseated.... eventually started lowering doses on what I could...but still on high dose vitamin D, turmeric, red yeast rice and CoQ10. Slightly higher doses on some other supplements.
Heat/Cold massage and acupuncture...did not help.
Pureed food....didn't help symptoms alot before Remicade but does help now when I go into a flare. Lots of fruits and vegetables.
All liquid meal replacement shake diet...amazingly it helped quite a bit...but not sustainable. I use it now when in a flare.
Estradiol hormon replacement therapy to help with flares.....helps with IBD and recurrent UTIs. Amazing huge difference for me.
There's so many more that I've tried and forgotten. Never tried MM....or any of that stuff. Have been thinking of trying it or the oil. I have friends that say they help.
I didn't realize how very desperate I was until I started the list. I'm so glad that my quality of life has improved. Thankful for Remicade and Methotrexate...but still looking at other things....
If I'd read this list before IBD I would have thought whoever was doing it was...well just very desperate and needed help. It funny to look back and yet sorta sad.
