Started Entyvio in April

Hi I started entivio in April and las week had 8 weeks shot after initial 3 loading dose. Symptoms have improved definitely but see too much mucus(no blood at all). I never had this much mucus even while I am flaring. I have GI appointment coming so I will definately talk to him but wondering if this is because the way entyvio works? Anyone else had this issue? Thanks.

I’ve been in remission on entyvio for over 5 years now so I don’t remember too much of the timeline. I do remember that it was 4 months before I was in symptomatic remission. It’s a little slow going. Small successes along the way. It’s not like all at once one day you’re in remission. But Very gradual improvement of symptoms and bad days getting farther between ubtil one day you realize you’ve not had a bad day in a very long time.

Have you seen improvements since you first started?

During the final months of my last flare I had a lot of mucous but no blood. I think it means you still have some inflammation. Entyvio is slooow though, if you're definitely seeing improvements i would give it a couple more months then re-assess.

Thank you both. Hoping that entyvio gets me in full remission. I do see improvement as no blood that was my symptom along with narrow BM. And those symptoms are better. So keeping figures crossed .

I'll chime in to agree that Entyvio can be slow, so it makes sense to wait and see. I was in an awful flare a year and a half ago, and I was nervous to taper off Budesonide and just be on the Entyvio after the loading doses, but it definitely worked out for me. I did a lot of reading, and it sounds like many people on Entyvio have to wait patiently. (I also added curcumin, good quality probiotic, and fish oil). Wishing you well!

Give it another couple infusions. As long as you don't start going backward Entyvio can be slow to get to full remission. It sounds like you are going in the right direction.

I started Entyvio last October. In January, I was still feeling unwell and discouraged, and my GI suggested that we increase the frequency to every 6 weeks. My understanding is that it's a pretty slow med. Also, the interval can be increased to every 6 weeks or even every 4 weeks, if needed.
