My GI decided to put me finally on Rinvoq. Given that I’m a Crohn’s patient, the recommended loading dose is 45 mg for 2 months. Then, it will go down to 30 mg as a maintenance dose. The problem now is that I didn’t notice that my GI prescribed one tablet to be taken after every meal. The 45 mg concentration is not available and I have to take the 15 mg tablet 3 times/day instead. I mistakenly thought that I would take the 3 tablets together but when I reread the prescript
ion, I found he wrote 3 times. I know it’s not a big deal but I thought I would take one dose as I’m used to taking Budesonide either 3 tablets or two tablets as one dose.

According to Rinvoq's website the starting dose is 45 mg once daily for 12 weeks (for UC it says 8 weeks), then drop to 30 or 15. You should probably clarify with your doc

3 times A DAY!!!??? Minn...best contact your doctor before you do that...or Abvie. This is the first I've heard of anyone taking more than one pill A DAY Better safe than sorry. LOL Good luck, it has certainly been working super great for me. Other than insurance problems and my sky high copay, it has put me in total remission since last December.

Let us know how u do, particularly with the fistula issue. If Stelara ever fails me I’ll have to switch. Not sure there’s anything else for our unfortunate situation.

I dont think it matters how you take the 45 mg. Maybe he thought it would upset your stomach taking it all at once. I took the one 45 mg pill in the morning without food. I would most likely take them all together just because its easier to take them that way. I always took my prednisone once a day even though my script
said splitting am/pm was allowed. You are still getting the recommended daily dose of 45 mg either way.

min...LOL I'm sorry....I read your post too quickly and thought you were going to take a 45 mg three times a day. LOL Abbvie has a pharmacy help dept. which could answer your question about
the three 15mgs.. Good luck with the Rinvoq.

Thank you all! I started two days ago to take the 3 tablets (45 mg) as a single dose. Still testing waters with some side effects like dizziness and constipation. I also sleep a lot on this drug. I read that I will need some time until my body adapts to it. Hope it will kick in soon and start working. I had to change 3 biologics in 9 months and this actually has been a lot for me let alone the relapse of my Crohn’s condition.
