Yep if I find interesting info will post. I was really shocked to find the above study,
everything always said more butyrate.
Sara Culturelle also made me worse,
I keep searching for a solution because I have grandkids, just in case its still being passed on.
Also seeing people on facebook and reddit that have no idea whats going on.
Also seeing tooooooo many biologic and other drug failures.
Besides that, where did my UC go,no painful bloody stool from the stoma.
I fixed my diversion colitis,as far as I can tell with the first approach, feed from the blood supply.
here is a short chain fatty acid enema study on diversion colitis, did not work
https://read.qxmd.com/read/1914718/treatment-of-diversion-colitis-by-short-chain-fatty-acids-prospective-and-double-blind-studysomething on exogenous ketones which is what I do thinking along the same lines read it.

NAD
https://www.liebertpub.com/doi/10.1089/ars.2017.7216Boy, like pulling teeth to find this stuff. Point is how to regenerate DHLA from ALA, once NADPH and NADH are depleted, can't regenerate the redox couple fast enough, then start using glucose. The preferred fuel for colon cells is butyrate which undergoes beta oxidation, but beta oxidation is blocked/inhibited,therefore no BHB for Krebs/TCA/citric acid cycle, therefore low NADH and NADPH levels. Therefore the possible/most probable solution is exogenous BHB,to bypass the beta oxidation block.

but can't use it,due to beta oxidation block. FIX exogenous ketones BHB.

https://journals.physiology.org/doi/full/10.1152/ajpgi.00437.2002it get worse if colonocytes start to use glutamine this make more ammonia which also impairs butyrate oxidation
