Inflectra infusion while having a cold

Hey everyone, its been a while since I’ve posted! Luckily that’s because I’ve been doing so well.
It’s that time of year again when colds hit. So my question is this, I have an Inflectra infusion scheduled for tomorrow, but I have come down with a little cold. Just some nasal congestion, a little fatigue and that’s it. I don’t really feel that bad at all. I think it’s okay to get my infusion as long as I don’t have a fever?

Haley, my dr allowed me to do Remicade infusions as long as I had no fever. I have a lot of sinus problems year round & take MucinexDM for congestion.

Generally we only delay an infusion when we're on an antibiotic for a known infection. Any question at all about whether you should go or not, call the infusion center before your appointment and ask them

Thanks to you both.
Checked with my doctor just to be safe and was told as long as there is no fever and just the cold symptoms it will be fine.

You sound OK. As a courtesy you might test for Covid

At my hospital they always check your temperature before giving an infusion. If you don't have a fever they will let you have the infusion

Antibiotics are only for bacterial infections.... so that is hardly a good definition of whether or not it is safe to get an infusion (plus if you live in certain parts of Europe they will not issue antibiotics unless its absolutely essential, to minimise problems with resistance). Covid and flu are both viruses...for example

The nurse today took my temperature, I didn’t have one. She said having a cold was okay. So we proceeded with the infusion. I live in an area where allergies are bad and colds are very common this time year so she said it’s normal for people to have a cold and get an infusion. Seemed like it was no big deal.
She did say they do not give infusions if you’re on an antibiotic.
