Glad you're feeling well, Geezer-- that's the main consideration. Several members here on the forum commented over the last couple of years that calprotectin test results don't correlate with their flares. Being a senior who already has enough chores to do, I recently told my longtime gastro that I didn't see any reason to test calprotectin-- because my flares always correlated to ESR blood test results. The gastro was not upset by my comment. I already had managed UC for 30 years when calprotectin tests were implemented so that has never seemed any kind of significant undertaking for my health's sake. (The "Everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" approach to managing UC doesn't work for me.) / Old Hat (40+ yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)
