22 Pills for prep Need an easy prep Pico Salax is Canada only I’m in US

22 pills! Oh man I wish I could take pills! I'm sure you have to drink a lot of liquid with it, but no vile liquid prep to kill yourself with. I thought they took pills as prep off the market. I would like to hear more about it. If you do it, please please let me know how it goes. I need to find a prep that works for me.

Miracles, I’ve never heard of pills for prep, sounds intriguing. Did the doc give you a product name? (An aside, not that it’s useful to you now, sorry…. I recently read a U.S. study which seemed to indicate a move toward making pico salex available for use in the U.S. in the future, as results were as good as with the large liquid volume products and people hated them less so were more compliant).

Serenity, have you tried Pico Salex? It’s approved in Canada and involves only drinking a normal sized mugs of a fairly neutral tasting liquid 2 times during the prep day. I’ve had two ‘excellent' and one 'good' prep score from two doctors after using it, and found it so much easier to manage than the large volume preps.

Oh, yet another example of how we all react differently to medications! Probably explains why some doctors discourage the use of Pico, perhaps it’s less of a sure thing than the large volume ones. Hopefully they’ll soon come up with something dependable and easy to take for all of us.

I've done Pico Salax twice. It was a bit easier, but my clean-out was only fair. I usually end up gagging by the end of the prep no matter what it is. Would love to try pills...at least I could drink more water that way. Or do you have to drink electrolytes with it? Anything salty makes me gag too. I'll be having a scope this spring and will ask my GI what's available here. Maybe I could buy it in the US?

I usually do su prep — less solution to drink but still lots of water. It’s sickly sweet though and I usually can’t quite finish it all. When my husband did his colonoscopy a couple years ago they gave him SuTab. Which was pills. I don’t remember how many. (He doesn’t have UC or any issues. They did not offer it to me a couple months ago but then I have always used SuPrep so they have it down in my chart as preferred and I forgot to ask about tabs.
