Congratulations on your excellent scope results, Mom2!!!!! Way-to-go!!!! Since my initial c-scope during a severe flare on left-side, I've always tried to avoid scoping during flares because I could feel the abrasive effect of the gizmo passing over inflamed tissue = ouch big time, ugh! So in the past decade I reacted well to c-scope in remission, except for a few days' hostility from an internal hemmie that spat some mucus toward end of prep + lasted for a couple days post-scope. My gastro's procedure center now requires Propofol sedation during c-scopes, which fatigued me for the following week my last time used. (Mentioned that to my gyn, who does a lot of major surgery, and she commented: "Propofol for the scope? No wonder you felt fatigued for a week!") *** RE the orange slime you eliminated post-scope, it doesn't sound like anything to worry about. When I used to get "twilight" sedation for c-scopes and could watch the scope monitor in real-time, I once saw a short string of yellow-orange yuck sliding down inside my colon toward the scope-head, but my gastro deftly flicked the scope aside a bit-- so the stringy blob then slid safely past it. She then reported "patient prep was good" on my post-scope record which meant that the slime sighting was no big deal. *** Wishing you continued successful remission; fantastic that you overcame the "cecal patch" variant. too. / Old Hat (40+ yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)
