Wishing you good luck with this clinical trial, ThereareM! Drink plain water, even half a cup every hour should help against nausea. I was in a clinical trial for Colazal in 2002, Phase II for an NIH study my gastro was participating in. I had to take 9 capsules at 3 x 3 daily for 10 weeks. I got through the early weeks ok, but by 8 weeks I had bad vertigo every morning then my eyelids puffed up and itched. At the time I was working full-time M-F (of course to keep my health insurance, LOL), so the AM vertigo really scared me. Gastro recorded my symptoms w/o comment, kind of frustrating for me. THEN at the end of 10 weeks I was informed that we subjects had to participate at same dosage for an additional 10 weeks!!!! I really felt discouraged to hear that, but my colon was behaving better than ever-- so that gave me the motivation to stay with the trial! Again by 8 weeks I suffered the same side effects! about 6 months after my 2nd 10 weeks in the trial, my gastro told me that Salix Pharma had revised the drug formula to eliminate secondary ingredients that were causing us subjects vertigo and other disturbing side effects, so that Colazal would get FDA approval for RX distribution. THAT became MY major break-through after 20+ years with UC flaring 2-4 times per year. My colon behaves well, though I do have to avoid stuff like carbonated drinks, heavy spice, seeds, and high sugar/salt/fats, and have to keep hydrated with plain water. *** Try to stay positive, especially if your colon does better after 4-6 weeks on the trial. (Fingers crossed for you!) / Old Hat (40+ yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)

I relapsed during trial phase, meaning I had blood, however I don’t know if I even go the drug in the first 12 weeks
Since I relapsed they automatically put me on the drug and definitely got the drug 4 days ago.
Again day one threw up twice with such a bad headache.
Now when I take medication within 3 hours a neck ache or headache in back of skull at neck.
Tylenol helps.
I’m still have urgency and accidents for sure.
I am on 50mg . Maybe I was on 25mg before or a placebo.i don’t know and they can’t say.
I had 3 scopes and each time doctors say I’m improving but the mayo score by my assessment through the computer that I log each day on ,says I’m still bad.
My doctor did a balloon procedure to open my stricter up.

I’m worse with poop not coming out easy it’s always long and skinny as well as having a stricture

I took my medication yesterday with a huge fatty meal and no issues. I trying again today. Also I took it with lunch not a small breakfast.

Yes I can have those, so I’m doing miralax in the morning.

I might try Metamucil again with a meal , for bulk and ease.
They don’t want you to be on probiotics or ibuprofen. Weird on the probiotics.
It’s an antiviral and anti inflammatory medication I am taking. It’s already used for RA rheumatoid arthritis

Thank you. I just need a big meal for this medication and ton of water with the meal.
The rest of the day I can go lightly for sure.
