Well... I was away...
I was taking Ellura cranberry capsules .. they were 118.00 way back then. I switched over to the Trunature and have been taking them for about
a year. I have ordered the Ellura capsules to use when I get an infection. I take two generic (Trunature,) per day usually. If I have an infection I double up on the Trunature to 4 a day. If that doesn't help I switch to 2 Ellura and then 2 Trunature. It is the 36 paks per capsule that's important. The reason the Ellura are better is because they are made from the juice of the cranberry and it's more potent. The Trunature are made up of the total berry so you get less juice so they are not supposed to be as good. But the cost is too high except for emergencies...and they usually work for me. I also use CNPUSA D-Mannose powdered. I get 3 jars every 6 months and use 4 grams per day. The 3 jars are cheaper plus I get free shipping. You'll probably need to experiment on the timing of dosage. I used to split cranberry capsules..but it works better for me if I take the cranberry all in the morning and the DMannose at lunch and then bed time.
On the brown pills ...they have them at Walmart under UTI pain pills. They are OTC. You can get them by script
but I can't tell the difference. They help with pain or the feeling of pressure.
I also use estradiol estrogen cream. This is very important. Half a gram every other day. I have to have that or the feeling of pressure or something being "stuck" in the urethra returns. Very uncomfortable. If I drop the ball on even one of them that feeling comes back. Your regular doc can test your estrogen level....but I went to a urogynecologist. She did not test my levels. She said that women around menopause age or who have IBD frequently need the extra estrogen to help not develop UTIs.
If I do all the above I don't get UTIs. But I have since discovered that sometimes when I was experiencing that pressure and thought it was a UTI....if I took my stone stopper capsules that feeling would go away. I take 4 a night right before bed. I tried in the morning or after noon..or splitting them up ...none of that worked. 4 a night right before bed.
It's a lot of juggling....but Gosh ..I don't ever want to go back there again.
My urologist wonders if my new stones developed because I was taking the stone stopper 2 in am and 2 in afternoon. The 4 at 1 time seems to .work better for me.
