Well on Saturday, my oldest daughter and I will begin the journey to college for the first time.  She is attending a university 2 states away.  Her father, sister and brother will come several hours later as the sister runs cross country and her first meet is Saturday.  Of course that means the bulk of the unloading will fall on me!  She is also going to be living on the 4th floor - no elevators.  I will, of course be wearing my trusty Depends as I am still in a flare.  The Depends have "saved" me on several occasions.  I am very happy for my daughter but also a little sad.  It seems like just yesterday I put her on the bus for kindergarten.  Thanks for letting me share my thoughts.  Love to you all.

Just don't do what my mom did when I went back to college for my second year! She locked herself in the van and wouldn't get out to say goodbye cuz she was crying to hard. Good Luck on the drive and moving all of her stuff in. Maybe you can recruit a few boys in her hall to help so you don't have to do so much work. ;) Fourth floor and no elevators! yuck!!

I am hoping I don't cry until AFTER we leave her. She would be so embarrassed. I noticed you are on the same meds as me. Are they working for you? I don't like the enemas but I feel they are doing the most good for me. Sorry you have this disease along with the rest of us. Take your meds and be patient. Thanks for your reply.

cry freely. it will let your daughter know how loved she is. Glad you are such a wonderful parent. I remember half the parents in my dorm were high-fiving each other that they 'got rid' of their kids 'finally'.

I know it is hard, but try to be happy that she is about to embark on an amazing journey. she's a lucky girl.

My meds seem to be working pretty good. I hate the enemas too, but i'm getting used to them. I feel a ton better then what I did before I started taking them. My joints started to hurt really bad the past few days, so they put me in prednisone for ten days :( we'll see what happens.

I'm sure your daughter wont be to embarrassed. :) Saying good bye to your parents is the hardest part in the beginning, then saying good bye to the friends you made is the hardest part at the end! Good Luck with everything again :)
