Hey Gang.....I've done a little research....sounds like another trip to a doctor for this one. Just recently the past 2-3 weeks hubby while sleeping is making this noise. It is not snoring. It is when he inhales through his nose it sounds like a wind storm or nor'easter. It is the craziest thing and something new for him. His nose is very dry and he tries to keep it lubricated. It gets crusty and trying to get the junk out of there will make it bleed so there is this cycle going on trying to get it more normal.
My nose is fine - not dry or any accumulation of anything. He is in the house and bed so much more than a normal person when he has his off days so maybe it is kind of like when we had lack of humidity up north in the winter when you put the heat on. We have a humidistat along with our central air and the house is at the perfect levels. But probably not perfect for his nose.
The reason I am asking here is if any of you have a complaint from your spouse like this...maybe the meds???? I have cut and pasted info from a ear, nose, throat site. One of the treatments could be an anti biotic which I try to stay away from with the UC. He has had roseacea 3 times - twice was treated with tetracycline and this last time is so mild that he is just using the topical cream and facial foam soap. So we are not using the anti biotic this time as he is tapering off the prednisone and the roseacea is very mild in comparison to the other two times.
If I wake up I cannot get back to sleep listening to this and quietly take my pillow and go to a guest room which he isn't even aware of. My sleep (or lack thereof) is important and starting to make me cranky as I'm having a hard time during the day now. Sorry for the complaint but thought I'd ask here before making a doctor appt if he will even agree to it. So sick and tired of all the doctor appts I know but I'm ready to put a pillow over his head!!!!
