okay so in the past 3 weeks i have developed skin tags. I have two now. i asked about it on the Chrons page and they mentioned skin tags are generally related to chrons and hemroids. i do not have chrons and i do not have any symptoms of hemroids. Any thoughts? has this happened to anyone else?

I replied to you over at the CD forum about this...skin tags are not related to UC....I understand you have pancolitis (aka UC with the entire colon being inflammed), but if it turns out you have perianal crohns skin tags (which you need to have confirmed by a GI or colon and rectom specialist/surgeon) then it could possibly mean your originall DX of UC MIGHT actually be crohns-colitis, keeping in mind that typically with crohns there are skipped patterns of inflammation and with UC the entire area will be inflammed, but if you have CD affecting you severe enough you could have the entire area of inflammation due to that as well.

You really need a specialist to check out the skin tags, especially since you mentioned over at the CD forum that they are NOT directly located on your anus, but instead close by it.

Thanks PB4. I called my specialist about it yesterday i will let you know how it terns out. Thanks for the info. I am still new to a lot of this and am learning something new everyday. This website has been a huge help. I tell everyone i meet at my remi infusions about it.

I have skin tags and didn't realize they are possibly symptomatic of Crohn's. I'll have my doc check 'em out next time I see him.

Susan, As PB4 mentioned it is symptomatic if it is actual on your anus. the one i had was slightly to the left and the other one is on it. that is why i got worried.

I'm anxious to find out what your doc has to say...there is always the chance they are harmless skin tags, usually come with age (although I don't know how old you are) and often caused by friction of the skin...these are different then perianal crohns skin tags, those are diseased tissue, which is why they flare up and can shrink back down.
