Hi Stacey,
I'm sorry I sort of fell off the face of the world. It was a very busy end of 2007/beginning of 2008. I traveled some for work and pleasure and then I had to lay-off people off the week after the holidays. Talk about stressful. I have had a bit of a hard time coming off the Prednisone. I'm finally down to 5mgs, and will be here for two weeks before I step down again very slowly. (I just love breaking those tiny pills in half!) I seem to be doing pretty good so far. My liver enzymes have been elevated and my doctor is hoping that once I'm off the steroids and he's sure the 6-MP is working, that he can adjust the dose on the 6-MP which should fix the liver enzyme problem. If it's not one thing, it's another. I just want to be off the steroids so bad, it's been almost a full two years, up and down and I really am sick of it. I know it works, blah blah blah, but I hate them.
I'm so glad to hear that you've done well and are staying in remission. I feel like I'm almost there but I don't feel like I can quite shout that to the world until I'm off all the steroids and just doing the 6-MP.
You mentioned that the weather was warm in where you live, I'd take that. I live in Connecticut, and like typical New England weather, it's very cold one day then warm, then snowing, then raining, etc. etc. It just seems to change as quick as they can predict it. I love the variety of it all, but as I get older, I seem to wish the winter was just a little shorter. It's not the weather that bothers me as much as the fact that there just seems to be so many gray days. I need my sunshine! Soon enough it will start getting warmer and brighter and I'll be much happier. The days are getting longer already. I'm coaching basketball for my youngest son, so that's been fun and keeping busy.
Give me an update when you can. I hope all is still going well.
