Hello, all. Sorry that we're all here but I'm sure this forum has helped a lot of people. I am so glad we have a resource such as this to help us all try to manage things as best as we can.
Anyhow, this past August, my hubby was diagnoised with low/moderate UC. At first things were shaky, but after the colonoscopy and official diagnois, he was put on a low fat/low residue diet. He's healing quite well, and during our last follow-up appt., he was given the go-ahead to start trying previously forbidded foods. I'm assuming he's in remission? He's been taking the following on a daily basis:
Colazal - 5 caps 2/day 750 mg
Azathioprine - 2 tabs once a day 50 mg
Flora-Q - one daily
I was aware that the Azathioprine is an immune suppressor and guess what? He had been feeling a little under the weather and today he woke up with a slight cold. Now I understand that there are certain OTC meds that he has to avoid, due to the scripts he's taking, but I was wondering if anyone knows if Nyquil is okay? It'd be nice if he could have some relief from the stuffy sinuses and enable him to sleep better.
Thanks in advance for your help -
I'll have a siggy figured out soon...
