Hi,

I'm on azathioprine and 8 weekly inflixmab infusions which are keeping my UC at bay.  However a new pyoderma gangrenosum ulcer has started on my lower leg despite these drugs and tacrolimus 0.3% ointment twice per day.  The ulcer is intact for now but I'd like to stop it before it starts.  Does anyone have experience of other successful drug or complementary treatments to prevent the ulcer from spreading and to induce healing?

Finding it really difficult to learn about others experiences as PG seems quite rare.  Hope there's someone out there who can help! eyes

I am not sure if this will be helpful to you or not, but I was recently diagnosed with Pyostomatitis Vegetans, ulcers on my lips. These painful ulcers went undiagnosed for a couple of years until I was finally diagnosed with this UC related (rather rare) disease at Wake Forest. They prescribed Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% and Protopic 0.1% ointments. My ulcers cleared up within 48 hours and with periodic use, these meds keep them at bay. HTH!
