Has anyone every asked if spouse could come in and watch the screen on a colonoscopy

I want to know if anyone has ever asked if after they have you all out if you have ever had a family memeber ( husband) back in the room so they could see the monitor.   I want someone to be able to show me on the computer what it looks like.  Sounds crazy I know - but this is something DH wants to do also.

I never had because my hubby doesn't want to see but you can call your doc up and ask if it's ok.

i have been in the room during my husbands colonoscopy.  if this is something you think is important, than you should pursue it.  if they say no, you should ask why. and i always ask where it is written that i cant do something if they say no again.  But, i didnt have any problem being in the room during my husbands colonscopy.

It would likely depend on the type of facility where your doctor performs the c-scope. If it is done at a hospital out-patient clinic, I doubt that they would allow any relative inside to witness the procedure. One reason is that there is always the possibility of some unforeseen complication showing up on the scope's monitor, which could upset the medical staff's routine. My gastro switched facilities a while back; at the new place they don't even want the patient to watch the monitor-- which really annoys me! I still try to look in-between naps from the sedation. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

I asked if my hubby could be there with me and they was fine with that, i have a prob being knocked out and so i was fearfull of what would happen to me, and yes he sat and held my hand and spoke to me all the way through and bless him he even held my hair while i was being sick after it was over....

If you feel you need someone there with you ask, make them say yes, good luck and let us know how you get on, take care love Pops x

Neither of my children's doctors let a parent go in with the child at all. With my son, we could hear him crying out when they tried to get to his TI and the sedation was wearing off. That was really tough to hear!!! We did get to be with both of them in recovery and we got lots of pictures. They were both given versid so they don't remember much of anything about it - but what I hate about the versid is that kids almost always cry really hard as it wears off and you feel so helpless to comfort them.

I hope your scope goes well and that you are able to have your hubby with you.

Where will you be having your scope? My son had his at OU Children's and my daughter had hers at Integris Baptist both in OKC. Integris was really nice. We were impressed with everything there.
