I just wanted to tell everyone here that I rented this movie, it was very inspirational and I really recommend it. It is a true story about
an abolitionist, William Wilberforce, who had UC in the late 1700s.

Yep, I've seen it too and thought it was good. I get so excited when UC is mentioned in movies or stories! My friend who saw it with me knows this and was laughing really hard when we first learnt he had UC and I let out a 'woohoo'.
I recently saw a dramaticised documentary on Beethoven. I'd previously read that researchers think he suffered from UC and it was the extraintestinal manifestations of UC that caused his deafness. Knowing that and seeing the documentary made me sad :-( Although, I later thought that maybe it was the ugliness and pain of the UC that made him escape and create his beautiful music. I guess we'll never know.
At least we are in good company!
