This link shows pictures, the first set of pics are actual hemmies, the set of pics under that are actually perianal crohns skin tags (aka: elephant ears)
The reason I'm posting this for you all is, way back just as I was getting sick with crohns, I started out with the perianal crohns skin tags and I was told they were hemmies, they ended up giving me such grief I went in for an emergency hemheroidectomy...BIG NO NO, turned out they were NOT hemmies but the CD anal skin tags...well the surgery I had was getting them banded, and they were in a bad flare at the time, because of this surgery they have to date (going on 17 yrs) stayed in a constant flare and causing continuous internal flaring to some degree for me (for most of my yrs, severe flares)....although I've gotten my internal flare better under control with the natural products I use I was warned that complete remission for me was slim to unlikely because of the complications with my anal tags.
Because UC and CD often get misDX for one another, it always makes me cringe when a UCer states they have hemmies...now I know that UCers can get hemmies, my concern is with the two conditions often being misDX for one another that there could be "UCers" out there with "hemmies", when infact they could infact be CDers with perianal crohns skin tags. And I don't want anyone to go through the horrid experiance I went through with getting surgery done on them when that should never happen.
If only I knew then what I found out shortly after getting the surgery.
