Are GREAT!!!  My illeum was 100% normal and normal mucosa was found throughout the colon with no evidence of active UC.  I knew I was in remission, but still good to have it in writing.  Now just waiting on the biopsy results.

They gave me Meperidine, Medasolam, and Penergan and I am STILL feeling the results 26 hours later..is this normal??  I am still a little dizzy and foggy in the brain and typing is really hard.  Should I call my doc??

I'm sort of loopy for about 48 hours after my scopes. In fact, the release paper they give you tells you not to make any important decisions for 72 hours because the anesthesia can remain in your system for up to 3 days.

You go, girl! That's great news so far! Yeah, it's somewhat of a fog the day after sedatives & you got something in addition to Demerol & Versed that I've not had, as far as I know. (Though at last scope gastro gave something that prevented me from speaking for a while-- so I might have had a 3rd substance.) Take it easy & get your fluids up to par. You may be dizzy from depletion of vitamins/minerals such as potassium. Have 4 oz of fruit juice + drink plenty of water, today especially. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

I usually feel fine the next day but everyone is different and they do say not to make important decisions and drive and stuff for x amount of time.

Haha..I bascially slept 16 hours straight, so dont' think I need anymore for a while. I will drink more. They told me not to drive for 24 hours but that was it. Maybe it was the third thing that is making me feel so wacked out. Thanks for the info guys! I won't make any IMPORTANT decisions for a while...haha..I love that one.

Hey, *Jen*--- 1 thing you might do (no "big decision" involved, ha!) is to read "Calling Knitty_Cat" post on P. 8-- RE 5-ASA foam we discussed when you were still flaring. Thanks to her we got an address to write to about getting it marketed in the U.S. / Old Hat

jen, that is great news-i hope you don't mind some questions- when you had your past flares were they bloody d and lots of frequency? were you in remission when you got pregnant and did you take uc med during pregnancy?
i see you tske only asacol now, did you take anything else to get you to this last remission.-thanks in advanc- i'm just trying to work out this puzzle.

What great results! I know just how you feel, because my last scope results were the same. Hallelujah!

My doc gives Versed and Fentanyl. I come home, eat a light meal and then usually sleep for most of the day. The next day or sometimes two, I'm groggy and even sillier than usual. I always have mine on Friday so I have three days to recover.

Well I don't know if I am a "typical" UCer, because I have always been blessed with what seems to be relatively minor flares compared to others on this board and I react pretty well to the meds. I took Rowasa enemas for a long time and when I was pregnant I took hydrocortisone ones for 2 weeks to get me back in remission(that was the worst flare I have had, basically really bad bloody D every 20 minutes for a week straight. I was either on the couch or on the toilet...no fun!) When I weaned my daughter I couldn't get back in remission so I tried Asacol and started feeling better within 24 hours, but I was in a pretty minor flare at that point. Everyone reacts differently to the meds.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. It does feel pretty darn good to see it written down on a piece of paper that you are in remission. Now I can start trying to conceive #2 as soon as I get the biospy results. I promised myself I would get my cancer check-up(never had a C-scope before, old sigs) before I tried to conceive #2 in case there were signs of cancer and I needed to treat them. My husband's mom died of cervical cancer because she ignored the signs and didn't go to the doc early enough. I promised him I wouldn't do the same(even though I know it is highly unlikely I have cancer). Sending everyone positive remission vibes. Hang in there guys!!

congratulations!!! Make sure you drink enough water.
Note how much of the meds you were given and tell the doc you want them changed so that you don't have the after effects.

Hey, *Jen*-- since you 1st posted I read that Phenergan can cause dizziness. Blurb said it is used to reduce anxiety before administration of other meds/procedure. So next scope, hide your anxiety! (LOL!) / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])
