symptom question

hey, i'm just wondering if anyone is like me... they can wake up feeling good, no rush to the bathroom,not that much pain but then blood. then the next day i'll wake up , have to rush to the bathroom, have alot of pain but no blood. it seems like if one symptom is in check, the other is out of check, anyone have any similarities or reasons y this happens?

Well, I wake up most everyday...especially when flaring and go right to the bathroom. Almost right away. I personally have to plan my day around this. I can't just wake up and be off to go somewhere. If I have to be somewhere early, then I get up even earlier in order to be able get my normal bathroom routine over. Then when I calm down, I can go about my day. When I am not flaring, I am still regular in the morning and then I go about my day.

According to my GI's (I've had 4 over my 16 yrs of IBD), flares/remission can last from a day to years, it seems to be the nature of the beast.

I can't see a flare being for a day....but I would think that if one has been flaring and is improving...there will be up and down days.

As well, depending on what one eats and how much as well as meds (antispasmodics) or supplements (fibre), it can increase or decrease some symptoms such as stool consistency, frequency and urgency.

Hope you're on rectal meds jeaner28...that can help with your flare.
