Methotrexate and Ulcerative Colitis Question

Hi All,

Has anyone had any unexplained tiredness while taking methotrexate? I take it for arthritis pain associated with colitis. I also take folic acid which is supposed to lessen the side effects. I take my dosage 5mg Sat morning, 5mg Sat even. and 5mg Sun. morning. I've been taking the med for less than 2 months but I was wondering if it was working. Any comments, advice?

I've never been on it....have you discussed it with your doctor?

Have you had your thyroid and blood count done? Could you be anemic?

You take the 3 dosages once a week....are you tired ALL the time or just a short time afterward?

Is there any improvement throughout the week?

You can try asking this question on the arthritis forum too if you haven't already done so. I'm not sure if many of us on here have ever tried MX.

I take 7.5 mg every Friday night and definitely feel kind of drained on Saturday and sometimes sunday. I asked my aunt about this, cause she's on it too and she does not experience any fatigue related to hers.
So i asked my GI what he thought, and if I should maybe take the three pills spread out like you do, and he said that would probably just spread out the fatigue :P
