I started having UC symptoms about 2 years ago and was diagnosed 1.5 years ago. My doctor thought it was hemroids and sent me to a surgeon who did a sigmoidoscopy (he didn't think it was hemroids) and diagnosed me.

I too was misDX with having hemmies, it turned out what was though to be hemheroides was actually perianal crohns skin tags...was this your issue too?  Reason I ask is because these are only related to crohns disease, not UC.

No, this wasn't the case. My family doctor was really bad and didn't even check. He said it was hemroids because I was bleeding. The surgeon didn't see hemroids when I went to see him for a consultation and did a simoidoscopy and found I was bleeding because of colitis. I now have a great family doctor who I am very happy with. I had a lot of issues with this other guy. I started going to walk in clinics because I didn't trust anything the other guy did.

Oh, what a relief, I was concerned you had a similar bad experiance that I had and thought you were misDX with UC when infact it was CD instead because those skin tags that look similar to hemmies are related to CD only.
