I was a maniacal idiot on 40mg of Prednisone.
My family thought I was insane, and actually, I was.
A friend of mine advised that I get some antianxiety meds while I was on it, at least so I could sleep.
If I never have to take that stuff again it won't bother me!!
It took me way longer to get off of it and I flared every time I tried. But finally got off of it with hydrocortisone enemas and
Lialda.
Be gentle with yourself and advise all around you to steer clear as needed and that its nothing personal.

A friend of mine went into such a rage on the stuff that she threw all of her deck furniture
(the good stuff too) off her 10 ft. high deck. Then she went into her husbands closet and threw all of
his clothing off the deck too. I guess he said something she didn't like?? Yikes!!

She won't ever take it again.........sheesh.

She's normally a very mild mannered and sweet disposition.

I almost got arrested due to a roid rage incident at my bank. I also grabbed my neighbour by the throat and had him off his feet against a fence.
I apologized to both parties later, told them it was due to the meds I was on, turns out the neighbour is a hockey player and he was terrified!
I read somewhere that prednisone was used as a defense in a murder trial and they won.
These days if I really have to go on the dreaded pred, I'm very careful in my interactions with people.
It's funny looking back, but pred is some serious s**t!

Well... When i took pred i would be happy one minute and literally the next i would be pacing the room for no reason -would just feel really anxious for no reason... I wouldn't be able to sleep at night and that made things worse. Temazepam would make me fall asleep but nothing would keep me asleep...so i would wake up after an hour or so. Other strange things happened like:
- i would have really fast thoughts running through my head like im thinking about everything at the same time
- really small things would make me VERY angry
- right before i fall asleep i would 'dream' that people around me were talking but then i would open my eyes and no one is around me

When i dropped below 20mg i fell into a huge depression. I would just cry on really stupid things.

These effects resolved after about a month-2 months of stopping the pred.
Would not wanna ever go on it again. Ive already got Clipper stored in my med cabinet in case i go on a flare. It's enteric coated and lower dose than pred.

Predinsone definitely makes you crazy! I find that after supper I get sort of sleepy on the couch, but by bedtime, it is on! I will get up and suddenly think...I'll make a cake...or a pie... or both! My teenage son and his friends love that there is always some goodie in the house, but it drives my husband nuts. Once I finally go to bed, I crash. I don't move for about 5 hours, then my colon decides it's time to get up and go. I don't really get the rage. For me, I am more manic.

When I had a brief successful taper recently, I really missed the steroids. I was tired and didn't want to do anything for about a week.
