Colonoscopy Friday - different from my last two

this time I will be taking miralax and dulcolax instead of the phosfo soda (2nd time) and jugs of horrible salty mixture (first time).

Any helpful hints?

Also, they are giving me propofol to knock me out.  I don't think I will be awake at all, which I dont mind.  I think I got demerol last time.

Any one get propofol?

I take Miralax on occasion for constipation and it's highly gentle to your system so I'm thinking that maybe both the Miralax and Ducolax may be a bit gentler on your system and less harsh on your kidneys. As for the anesthesia, I don't know what they use on me but I don't mind one bit! I was semi awake on my very first scope and all I can say is never ever ever again! Knock me out! Good luck and let us know the results of the scope when you find out.

thanks!! yeah they said the miralax and dulcolax were supposed to be gentler on our systems, and my kidneys can use all the relief they can get.

Why are they having you take both Miralax plus Dulcolax? It likely should be just Miralax + liquid. That's what my gastro prescribes for UCers in delicate condition. Good luck with it all. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])
