hi lmills, i am new to this page so here it goes ,sorry for your pain, i know what your going through. I was diagnosed with uc when i was in my 30's had severe cond. for a few years was on sulfasophiline for most of my life. was in remit till 4 years ago.flare up put me in hospital for a week then I was put on asacol for 2 years then was told I had to have an ileostomy at age 57 because I had precancerous growths (Polyops). I know every case is different. I would advise you to see a GI ASAP an ask for a Colonoscopy (Not very pleasent but very effective beleive me) Your life is not a rehearsal but the real thing You won't regret it. All the best and I'll say a prayer that your pain goes away.
