Remicade ?

I was wondering how Remicade helped those who have tried it. I just started Imuran but my body did not take it well when I went upto 100mg. Since this didn't work our next option is Remicade. I feel as if I have tried EVERYTHING the past two years to get my UC under control. No luck so far

Looking for some hope!

Hi ARockstar, and welcome to HealingWell. I've been on Remi for 3 years now and am in the best shape of my life too! I was so sick I could hardly leave the house. Hey, not to rain on the parade, but I was on remicade for year in full remission, but then for the last 4 months or so I have been in a flair, and I have gotten one remicade infusion in there and it hasn't really helped. Perhaps it was just a fluke, but apparently there are studies where the effect decreases with time, but you should definitely try it!

I was the same way a year ago -- horrible reaction to Imuran when I got to 100 mg and then given Remicade as my last option prior to surgery. Thank goodness the Remicade worked, although I only JUST got off the Prednisone, turns out I need to have the Remicade every six weeks rather then every eight weeks to get into a state of "almost" remission. I have 3-5 BMs in the morning, mostly formed, and a few days in the week I have a little blood and mucous. I have been off the Pred just two weeks after two years on, so I am hoping that has to do with the withdrawal and will get better. I also feel a bit nauseous for the first few hours of the morning. But even with all that, I do feel better than I have since diagnosis.
