how long after pred taper for joint pain to go away?

for the past three weeks, it is just hard to walk, my joints really hurt, stairs are hard to do. I talked to my Nephrologist and he said it was the pred masking it.........but I am so sick of this.  I do the treadmill for 30 min a day, I need to keep active, once I get moving I am ok, but if I sit for any length of time getting up is so difficult and I walk really really slow.  It is kind of embarrasing.  I try to stretch in my cube for a few seconds before walking out of it......I shuffle.....uuugh!

you're still on pred, right? I hate to tell you--- it's gonna get much worse before it gets better! My joint pains lasted about 2 months after I took my last dose of pred. And once you're actually off the stuff, the pains seem to get worse! It's horrible- I shuffled around too! You feel like you're about 100 years old. I've always started at 60mgs too, & tapered over the course of months.

It took me about a full year to lose the joint pain after my last dose of pred. I was on varying dosages for 2.5 years. It's hard and it hurts but keep pushing through it. Engage in exercise, I think that helped me.

I work go the gym 2-3 times a week (including running/swimming) and I never have joint pain from Pred.
